Trust Me, I Get Into Movies Free: War Horse
The beautiful cinematography, war sound effects and smaller narratives couldn’t save this movie. My top 15 thoughts watching the new Steven Spielberg flick: 15. Cheeeeeeese! Loads of it. 14. Lots of sentimental music. I feel like shouting, “Easy on the strings, Mozart!” 13. Joey? The war horse’s name is Joey? Seriously? 12. The horse from “Man from Snowy River” would totally kick Joey’s ass. 11....

The Black Keys on The Colbert Report: Two of my favorite things…lalalalahhh. I love how nervous the guys seem in front of Stephen Colbert’s fast wit. “This time last year you were Beardy and Glasses, the rock and roll guys. Now you are The Black Keys. Triple Grammy winners!” “Do you like being famous? ‘Cause I love it.” “Groupies? Groupies? Rock...

Rent: Super 8
I’m not a J.J. Abrams geek. But I’ve enjoyed many of his projects, not realizing they were his (Looking at you, CLOVERFIELD). And those two have very similar tones. Super 8 also reminds me of Menaj Night (no longer deserves an abbreviated first name) Shyamamalan’s Signs: super suspenseful, yet has lots of humor dispersed throughout. And that’s why I liked it. Grade: Very enjoyable

Don't Rent: Water for Elephants
I netflixed this movie because mom requested that we watch a chick flick for a change. Not knowing much about it other than Team Edward and Reese Witherspoon I thought, “Ehhh, that’ll do.” But, oh, what a bore. Even my mom was disappointed. Water for Elephants is directionless. At first you’re watching for a catastrophe, but then you realize that’s gonna be the big finish. Then you think it’s...

Important Update: Site Change
Okay, so maybe it’s not so important but… Loyal Followers, I will be changing my tumblr name in hopes of granting me greater privacy. I’ve enjoyed the nonsense I sometimes write on here and want to continue without fear of professional decency. Huhahh! This will happen in the next couple of weeks. Or tomorrow if I get bored. For most of you this won’t matter because you...

New Album Info
deltaspiritofficial:   Here’s the album art for our self-titled record, arriving March 13, 2012 on Rounder Records.  Delta Spirit was produced by Chris Coady at Dreamland Recording Studios - a converted church built in 1896 in Woodstock, New York.  “We found the sound that we’ve been looking for, that we’ve been growing into, and as soon as we hit on it, we ran with it. That’s why it’s a...
